What is CPO?

Charge Point Operator

A CPO owns or operates EV charging stations: it keeps them running, sets prices and earns revenue from charging sessions. A CPO runs its network on a CMS (CPMS) and often shares it with other networks through roaming.

CPOs range from energy utilities and fuel retailers to parking companies, fleet depots and specialist charging networks. Their main concerns are keeping chargers available (uptime), getting paid for every session, and filling their chargers with drivers, which is where eMSPs and roaming come in.
