What is CSMS?
Charging Station Management System
CSMS is the name the OCPP specification uses for the central system that chargers connect to. In practice it means the same thing as a CPMS or CMS: the back office that monitors and controls a network of EV chargers.
The OCPP 2.0.1 specification describes two roles: the charging station, and the CSMS that manages it. Messages such as starting a transaction, reporting meter values or changing the charging limit flow between the two.
Iris Network acts as the CSMS for OCPP 1.6J and 2.0.1 chargers.
