What is CCS?

Combined Charging System

CCS is the charging connector standard that combines AC charging pins with two large DC pins in one inlet, so the same socket on the car takes both slow AC and fast DC charging. CCS2 (Combo 2) is the standard in Europe; CCS1 is used in North America.

Most new electric cars sold in Europe use CCS2 for DC fast charging, and it is also widely used for DC charging of cars in India. CHAdeMO and GB/T are other DC connector standards.

Also called: CCS2, CCS Combo 2, CCS1
